Aloha!
I am so so happy! Alright so update on the kitchen... kitchen duty is a blast. I really love it, rushing around, chopping cleaning, putting things away - right up my alley. I like being put to work and having something to do to balance all the lovely lazy downtime. I get a good mix of people each shift (today was only my second) who are so helpful and kind about me learning the ropes. On the note of people - so much love! Everyone is so friendly and genuine, wants to know what you do for fun, where you're from, and will at least say hello (or, of course, aloha). Now back to the kitchen, the food is beyond delicious. Mitch, the head chef, is as thin as a stick and a vegetarian and manages to pump out the most amazing nutritious food. The other day dinner was as follows: roasted carrots, beets, and parsnips, seasoned mashed white beans, steamed kale with garlic, squash soup, grilled ono and pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting. I know. Every meal is just unbelievable. My two shifts I worked as a server which is really rewarding because I get to feed all the wonderful people that are staying here and work at Kalani.
Tonight is my first night sleeping in my tent. I'm scared! It's dark out there but I'm sure I'll be just fine. Today I saw some little wild piggies walking around! Totally harmless and exciting to catch them trotting around. Alright my computer is on it's last leg so I'm off to the tent for a (hopefully) restful nights sleep!
Sending much love to all of you!
P.S. Meggie - yes! :)
Yum, yum, yum! Sounds great on all fronts!
